Yongye International Featured on China Central Television as the Model Case of Agricultural Innovation

(Nasdaq: YONG), ("Yongye" or the "Company") a leading manufacturer, developer and distributor of "Shengmingsu" brand plant and animal nutrient products in China, today announced that the Company's Shengmingsu branded plant nutrient product and its unique branded store business model were featured as an innovative and effective agricultural model by China Central Television's (CCTV) Economic Channel on June 30, 2010 on the Economic News program which is the flagship news program for CCTV's Economic Channel. This is the most influential business and financial TV channel in China and is similar to CNBC in format. The 7-minute special report described how agricultural innovation from companies like Yongye has helped Chinese farmers improve farm productivity in 2010 summer harvests given adverse weather conditions experienced across different parts of China. In the report, Yongye's Shengmingsu branded plant nutrient products and its branded store business model were praised by several farmers for helping them achieve good crop yields under extreme weather conditions. The farmers also praised Yongye's diligent efforts in helping them learn more about modern agricultural technologies. Rural government officials and national agriculture experts also agreed that Yongye's branded store model is assisting farmers improve yields in rural areas.

During his interview, Mr. Guanghui Hu, a farmer in Jinxian County, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, specifically stated that though his rice field was flooded, he was able to rescue most of the harvest due to the strong effect of Shengmingsu plant nutrient product which he applied on the crops and allowed them to grow more quickly and stand up against the flooding, while another local farmer who didn't use Shengmingsu told the reporter that he lost a significant portion of his harvest given the same flooding.

During another interview, Mr. Shubao Liu, a farmer in Dawang village, Fangcheng County, Nanyang, Henan Province, said he appreciated the technical assistance provided by Yongye branded store, which helped him achieve a satisfactory harvest despite a very severe drought in his planting area. A county level governmental official in charge of agriculture also told CCTV that Yongye has developed over 50 village-level branded stores in Fangcheng County. They provide technical services to farmers, and this is a model which he believes is very beneficial and effective in his county.
