NEW YORK, October 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A short video showing a group of gorgeous Asian beauties has recently been attracting attention on one of the large outdoor billboards in New York's Times Square.

Dressed in chic modern clothing and exuding the classical beauty of oriental ladies, the models are holding and posing with ancient weapons such as swords and spears, to showcase the mystery of Chinese Kung Fu in the most fashionable way. Their charming eyes and graceful postures are captivating.

This commercial is the trailer for Season III of "I, Supermodel", the leading fashion reality series and modeling competition exclusively produced by iQIYI.com. The show is widely recognized as the Chinese version of "America's Next Top Model".

Following ANTM's cancellation from the CW network, VH1 picked up the show for its 23rd season, but during this hiatus, the Chinese "I Supermodel" team decided to travel to America to film their modeling reality show in Los Angeles and New York.

Furthermore, the famous mentors from ANTM -- runway coach extraordinaire Miss J Alexander and fashion and celebrity photographer Yu Tsai -- are now sitting on the judging panel of "I Supermodel" while international supermodel Coco Rocha, and the queen of burlesque Dita Von Teese have also appeared on the show as guest judges, joining the likes of global fashion superstars Miranda Kerr, David Gandy and Alexa Chung to have been on the show before.

Surprisingly, the standard of beauty differs all around the world and what is considered beautiful by Americans may actually be considered "ugly" by the Chinese, such as was the case with 2016 Miss Michigan Arianna Quan and international supermodel Lv Yan. The western aesthetic culture differs hugely with that of China.

With the rising of the Chinese market, the standard of beauty is also changing and indeed Asian faces have already become a necessary element in the global fashion industry. Now more and more Chinese supermodels are entering the international stage.

Commenting ahead of the launch of the new series, a spokesperson for iQIYI, the producer of the show, said, "Chinese models ooze confidence, vigor, and enthusiasm, and their fashionable lifestyle and their pursuit of a better quality of life is also palpable. They show that regardless of background, anyone can always make a statement of fashion."

"We believe that all the contestants in the program "I, Supermodel" and all its audiences are beautiful in their own way. "I, Supermodel" not only provides a platform for models to pursue a career in fashion, but also take them through an unprecedented transformation in life."
