BEIJING, Sept. 25 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The grand ceremony named "Ten Years of Growth" was held by Talents Magazine, a leading Chinese business magazine, in Beijing on September 21.

This event consisted of two forums: one for MNCs in China, the other for state-owned companies (SOC). Chinese SOCs have had brilliant performances in recent years, which contrasts strikingly from their past image of burden loaded and low efficiency entities. Therefore, the theme of this forum was "Creating Value, Contributing to China--Jointly Creating China's Business Value Over the Last Ten Years."

During the SOCs forum, the guests all improved their understanding of Chinese SOCs. The general manager of China National Offshore Oil Corp., Fu Chengyu said, "Nearly all the large Chinese SOCs have entered capital market and taken part in market competition." While the Chairman of Board, Chang Xiaobing noted, "While the number of mobile phones in China is soaring, users are using them more frequently too. So there is still enough room to grow." The largest Chinese aluminum company CHALCO's general manager, Xiao Yaqing, expressed the company's ambition, "Besides further merging competitors, CHALCO will make progress towards an international multi metal company."

1997-2007 is a decade worth remembering and examining. During these past ten years, corporations and the Chinese economy as a whole have been developing at a very high speed, with a number of notable business leaders popping up along the way.
