By now, Kuaishou has accumulated over 700 million registered users and more than 100 million daily active users. Its enormous distribution capability based on powerful AI technology enables users to immediately find anyone or anything that interests them.

With its outstanding scale and state-of-the-art technologies, Kuaishou is more than a mere tool to record and share life; it begins to have the power to change the fate of ordinary people.

At the SXSW venue, Kuaishou presented the value of the platform based on technology.

Recording history was always a privilege for elite upper classes. However, that time is long gone. The widespread of technology has brought newspapers, radio, TV and other forms of media.

Today, in the era of Internet and mobile Internet, the ways in which life is recorded has again changed. Now, everyone has the ability to share their experiences and encounters in words or pictures or record short videos and share them in forms of small clips.

Among all the short-video sharing platforms, Kuaishou has the biggest number of users and it is also possibly the purest one. "Kuaishou is an open square where everybody can equally record and share." Said Zhang Xiaoran, Program Manager of Marketing from Kuaishou Technology.

Recent statistics of Kuaishou reveal: 100 million daily active users, with more than 60 minutes of daily use, 4 billion original short videos in archive and over 15 million original videos uploaded daily. In China, Kuaishou has become the third largest online community behind WeChat and QQ.

Kuaishou has an enormous user base and they have managed to portray their actual daily lives on the platform to the maximum extent. According to Zhang, "Let as many people as possible use videos to become the recorders and sharers of the world and reshape the city with images and clips." Kuaishou stated its hope at the venue.

After its recording amount reaches a certain degree, Kuaishou starts to look back on its influence. As Zhang noted, "Recording can document the world. No matter how many years have passed, recordings truthfully reveal everything that happened in the world and exert impact on the people living in it."

At the Geek Park IF event, Kuaishou played some of the videos taken by its users. There were videos showing the two worlds, with old boats in small towns as well as magnificent skyscrapers in modern cities. All these show us the originality of the places in China.

Besides recording real events and sites, Kuaishou also changed the way people connect with each other. Zhang told the audience of SXSW in Austin: "Recording and sharing help connect people by improving understanding and fulfilling the unique sense of happiness that comes from it". On the platform, you can find glimpses of lives such as old people playing the Er-hu, a traditional Chinese musical instrument, young girls welding and kids skating in the street. This is a platform where different people share their lives and help people understand each other better through watching their videos.

Recording also empowers people. A family who lived under the poverty line and made a living by juicing bamboo shoots in the village has garnered almost 650,000 followers. Another family fishing on the ice over Ussuri River in Northeast China has over 1.2 million followers. They share their lives and details of their daily work on Kuaishou, showing the local ecological environment as well as their farm and sideline products in the most direct and authentic way. This was well received by users. While interacting with followers on Kuaishou, the families increased their earnings, which in turn changed their lives for the better. This is the optimal result Kuaishou hoped for.

Last July, at the Geek Park Rebuild event, Su Hua, the founder and CEO of Kuaishou was asked to describe the app in four words. The first two words that came to his mind were "recording" and "inclusiveness".

In the core values of Kuaishou, "inclusiveness" is an extremely crucial part. Most of the team members of Kuaishou have technical backgrounds and truly believe that the power of technology is what's changing the world. In the mission of Kuaishou recording the world, the universal value will make it better serve ordinary people.
