iShares Grows its Senior Management Team in Asia

HONG KONG and SINGAPORE, June 10 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- iShares, Barclays Global Investors' Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) business, today announced further steps in its ongoing growth in Asia, with a significant expansion of its Asia management team.

David Gardner has joined the iShares Asia management team as Managing Director and Head of Sales, iShares Asia-Pacific.

Joseph Cavatoni also joins the Asia management team as Managing Director, iShares Asia Capital Markets.

iShares also announced the appointments of Eleanor Seet as Senior Director of iShares Private Wealth Distribution and Anthony Chan as iShares Senior Investment Strategist.

Nick Good, CEO of iShares Asia-Pacific, announced the new iShares hires today saying: "The market for ETFs in Asia continues to expand at a rapid rate. To meet the growing demand, iShares has significantly strengthened its regional management team with new client service support for institutional investors, private wealth managers and our capital markets partners. We believe that this expanded base of senior-level talent will provide the highest quality service to our clients and support iShares' position as the world's leading provider of exchange traded funds."

New appointments for iShares in Asia include:

David Gardner, Managing Director, Head of iShares Sales, Asia Pacific

David Gardner will lead all sales teams for iShares in the Asia Pacific region. David is relocating to Hong Kong following 9 years with iShares and BGI in the US. David joined the firm in 2000 as a Business Development Officer in the US National Full Service channel and has grown to become a key leader in the iShares US operation, including developing the Private Wealth Management channel in 2003 and establishing the New Jersey distribution center sales team in 2007. Most recently, David has overseen the US Institutional, Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) and New Jersey sales teams and has served as a member of US iShares Executive Committee.

Joseph Cavatoni, Managing Director, iShares Capital Markets, Asia Pacific

Joseph Cavatoni will be responsible for the management of all iShares capital markets relationships across the Asia Pacific region. Joe's primary focus will be on counterparty management including market making activities, broker-dealer education, and thought leadership with respect to ETF trading analytics. Prior to joining iShares, Joe worked in UBS as Managing Director, Head of Equity Finance, APAC where he was responsible for Access Products, Securities Lending and Prime Brokerage Financing. Prior to UBS, Joe was at Merrill Lynch as Head of Prime Brokerage in Tokyo.

Eleanor Seet, Senior Director, iShares Private Wealth Distribution, Asia ex-Japan

Eleanor Seet will provide iShares client service support for Private Wealth intermediaries in the Asia ex-Japan region. Prior to joining iShares, Eleanor spent 12 years with Alliance Bernstein in Singapore.

Anthony Chan, iShares Senior Investment Strategist, Asia ex-Japan

Anthony Chan is a Senior Investment Strategist with iShares in Asia ex-Japan. In his new role, Anthony will provide consulting support to clients seeking to implement asset allocation strategies and trade ideas using ETFs. Prior to joining iShares, Anthony was a Principal Consultant with Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting in Hong Kong.
