Tissue World Sao Paulo 2015 to Serve South America Dynamic Market

2014-10-20 20:00 2580

HONG KONG, Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Brazil is the largest producing country of tissue paper in Latin America, making up 32% (1.274 million metric tonnes) of the 3.978 million metric tonne Latin American market, with 38 operating T&T mills. Following years of double-digit sales growth in value terms, Brazil's tissue and hygiene markets slowed down in 2012 and 2013. However, sales of tissue and hygiene products are expected to continue showing steady growth in constant value terms while manufacturers are giving priority to value-added products and premium brands. On a second tier level but increasingly important and growing we find Colombia, Chile and Peru, which together represent 18% of the market.
