Logwin AG integrates its businesses and re-brands as one company
HONG KONG and SINGAPORE, May 19 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Birkart Globistics, a leading provider of global transportation and freight forwarding services, today announced a major re-branding which will see the company renamed as Logwin effective July 1, 2008. The move will entail parent company Thiel Logistics, and its group companies in the segments of Solutions, Air + Ocean and Road + Rail -- transitioning to the Logwin name. In future, all group companies will thereby be united under the same company name.

This development thus represents a significant milestone in the group's history and follows a recent announcement made by Logwin AG at a press conference in Frankfurt, Germany, earlier this year in which initial plans regarding the re-branding were unveiled.
In addition, the re-naming will ensure that the different, but complimentary areas of the company share in a common purpose and objective, whilst enabling the group's 8600 employees in 44 countries, to provide customers with a powerful, integrated logistics solution under a common, coherent brand.
Mr. James Kilpatrick. Regional Managing Director of Birkart Far East views the re-branding as a very positive change whereby all companies within the group will now share a single goal and direction.
He explained, "More importantly, it also enables us in the Asia Pacific region to provide our clients with an integrated portfolio of global transportation services that meets their increasing demands for end-to-end logistics solutions, matched by total supply chain visibility."
In terms of the change of name, Mr. Kilpatrick stated that the new corporate identity provides the organization with a stronger, global brand that will help to increase the company's profile, visibility and credibility worldwide. He stated, "The rationale behind the name change strategy is to refocus the group with a brand name and corporate identity that better reflects our international standing and the future direction of our company's business and growth objectives."
Mr. Wolfgang Laube, Regional Managing Director of Birkart South East Asia also joins Mr. Kilpatrick in welcoming the new name. He commented, "The new name conveys unequivocally who we are and what performance standards we have. Logwin is a logistics company which is clearly expressed in the name and visual representation at first glance."
Furthermore, the Logwin name implies a clear value proposition: the customers are successful with Logwin as their logistics partner. The short and concise slogan 'Your logistics' underlines the value proposition and demonstrates that customers are always in the focus of the activities.
The change of name is accompanied by a new logo and visual identity. The basis of this identity is a modern design in which a graphical element preceding the lettering conveys a partnership between customers and the group.
The two arches represent an interaction that allows creating something new that would not be possible on its own, whilst the shape and coloring of the graphic demonstrates vitality, drive, openness, stability and power. These characteristics correspond to the company's core values of being a reliable, innovative and friendly logistics partner.
