Northern Lights travel expert, Off the Map Travel, has this month launched a new and exciting way for holidaymakers from Hong Kong to experience the Aurora Borealis, with the announcement of the Aurora Village overnight experience in northern Sweden.
The Aurora Village is made up of a collection of three traditional Swedish ice-fishing huts that are placed on the frozen lake Badsjön during the winter months in the mountains surrounding the world famous Northern Lights region of Bjorkliden and Abisko in northern Sweden.
The huts, which are traditionally used by ice-fisherman in the region during the Arctic Winter, have uninterrupted views of the greatest light show on earth. Jonny Cooper, director of Off the Map Travel and Northern Lights expert, explains; "Isolated from any light pollution on the frozen lake with pitch black skies, the huts give you perfect conditions to experience the Aurora. A four-night trip to Bjorkliden and Abisko in northern Sweden costs from 17,491 HKD (£1,399) per person on a full-board basis with accommodation for three nights in a four-star hotel and one night in the Aurora Village.
