Japan-invested Venture Specializing in Soilless Culture Organic Fungus and Mushrooms Opens for Business in Changzhou National Hi-Tech District

CHANGZHOU, China, Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ichimasa Agrotechnology (Changzhou) Co., Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan's Ichimasa Kamaboko, officially opened for business in Changzhou National Hi-Tech District (CND) on October 23th. With a total investment of US$36 million, the company will specialize in industrial production of soilless culture organic fungus and mushrooms.

Ichimasa Kamaboko, a Japan-based publicly traded company mainly engaged in the production of fungus and mushrooms in addition to raw materials for Japanese hot pot and oden, has received a number of awards in the home market, including the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award and the Gold Prize in the Regional Recommendation Category. After undertaking an inspection tour, Ichimasa Kamaboko chose Changzhou as the location for its first operation in China in a move to meet the market's increasing demand for healthy foods.

Japanese hot pot is a traditional Japanese delicacy made with pure soup-stock and herbal ingredients. The product is available in three varieties:Sukiyaki, seafood hot pot and hot pot using ingredients that typically only grow in mountainous regions. Oden can be easily prepared as a soup at any time.

As an important advanced manufacturing cluster in Changzhou receiving growing attention from manufacturers from around the world, CND has seen more than 40 Japanese companies, including KOMATSU, Bridgestone, Marubeni Corporation, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Fuji Heavy Industries and Denso Corporation, select the hi-tech district as the locale for their China-based manufacturing facilities.
