"CogniVue technology was key in enabling us to integrate embedded vision processing as part of the microcamera," stated Andreas Ostmann, a graduate of physics and the group manager at Fraunhofer IZM. "Along with the APEX-based SCP2200 (CV2201) in the microcamera, we will be working with CogniVue on implementing an ADAS application to be announced at a later date."

"Freescale is very pleased to see this innovative product from Fraunhofer using the SCP2200 Image Cognition Processor," said Allan McAuslin, Automotive Product Manager at Freescale Semiconductor. "The SCP2200 ICP has significant performance per power per area advantages over competing SoC's and the microcamera from Fraunhofer is yet another example of the component being used in revolutionary, small, smart automotive cameras."

"Fraunhofer has utilized their cutting edge assembly and interconnection technology with our APEX technology to create a truly remarkable, small, smart automotive microcamera," said Tom Wilson, VP of Product Management at CogniVue. "We look forward to further collaboration with Fraunhofer in providing CogniVue ADAS software for future demonstrations of the full utility of the microcamera."
