FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tactus Technology, Inc., the leader in on-demand tactile surfaces, today announced that it has closed its Series B funding round. Tactus' dynamic surfaces are a dramatic innovation in the Touch 2.0 revolution that consumers and OEMs are eagerly awaiting: screens that transform a flat touchscreen into a real physical three-dimensional interface when needed.

This latest funding includes a new investor - IPV Capital, one of China's leading early-stage technology investment firms, along with additional funding from existing investors. This second part of the Series B funding round was driven by an upcoming commercial launch and related production line integration with manufacturing partner Wistron.  This capital influx brings the total capital raised by the company to approximately $30 million.

"We are excited by the momentum of our production ramp, and the acceleration that this additional funding provides towards bringing our technology to market and launching product this year," said Dr. Craig Ciesla, CEO and co-founder of Tactus. "IPV brings not only seasoned advisors as members of our board but also enables strategic contacts into some of the world's largest and fastest growing potential customers."

"IPV Capital is delighted to participate in this funding round and work with the management team to bring this innovative technology to market," said Tiemin Zhao, Partner at IPV. "We see a tremendous opportunity for Tactus with the continued growth of mobile computing led by the emerging new leaders in the China market."
