HANGZHOU, China, June 11 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- 5fad.com, a leading online digital music provider in China ( http://www.5fad.com ), announced today that it has filed a lawsuit against Baidu.com, Inc. on June 10 at the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The lawsuit focuses on copyright infringement against Baidu.com. The District Court has since accepted the case.
The litigation seeks relief against an ongoing infringement of the Plaintiff’s copyrights in a number of music works (“Copyrighted Works”). The Defendant stands accused of allowing internet users to directly listen to and download Copyrighted Works via the Defendant’s website without Plaintiff’s authorization. Plaintiff seeks declaratory, injunctive and monetary relief for willful copyright infringement.
