SINGAPORE, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With Indonesia as the largest paper making market in South East Asia, Voith Paper is pleased to be participating in ASIAN PAPER JAKARTA, to be held from 28 – 30 April 2015 at the Jakarta International Expo in Indonesia.
By building up its after-market products and services business including stock preparation and paper machine rebuilds as well as providing local resources with comprehensive know-how and experience, Voith in Karawang will integrate as a full scale project execution location into the global network of application, design and engineering competence centres within Voith Paper.
Voith Paper Asia currently employs around 2,200 people and has established a total of 14 locations across the Asia Pacific region. Design, engineering, technical sales, order execution, supervision and erection, as well as a maintenance service team will enable Voith Paper to offer fast, flexible and reliable services to help customers in maintaining a high availability of their paper machines.
The roll service centre is an integral part of Voith in Karawang, which will expand as the demand for all types of roll covers and mechanical roll service is constantly increasing. For many years, the roll service centre has secured major commitments in corporate contracts from customers throughout the Asia Pacific region and with the anticipated growth, will soon reach its capacity limits.
Driven by space requirements of the mechanical roll service, the service centre in Karawang will increase its overall output capacity in addition to installing a high-end, state-of-the-art manufacturing line for composite calendar covers, providing the fastest processing and turnaround time along with the added security of reduced transportation costs and risks for producers within this market segment.
In response to this steady and growing market demand, Voith Paper will be able to serve the South East Asian Paper industry well into the next decade with this major step in building up capacities in Indonesia.
