BEIJING, June 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Air China plans to commence Hangzhou-Bangkok nonstop service on June 12, 2015 and Hangzhou-Osaka nonstop service on July 1, making it much easier for passengers from Hangzhou to fly to these two distinctive destinations.

The demand for travel from east China to Thailand and Japan has been on the rise in recent years. According to the Zhejiang Tourism Administration, in October 2014, the number of travelers between Hangzhou and Bangkok reached a record 11,000, and during the period January-October 2014, travelers from Hangzhou to Japan totaled 136,675, up 228.62% over the same period of the previous year. The Hangzhou-Bangkok service will be Air China's first air link from east China to Southeast Asia, and the Hangzhou-Osaka service also means that the carrier will fly nonstop between Hangzhou and Japan for the first time. The new routes to be opened will provide easier travel options for passengers in east China looking to travel to and from Thailand and Japan and further the economic, trade and cultural exchanges as well as cooperation in the field of tourism between China and Thailand and between China and Japan.

The two new routes will bring the number of international and regional destinations Air China serves up to 6, the other destinations being Taipei, Seoul, Jeju and Tokyo, and will further expand Air China's international operations from east China and cement the position of Shanghai as Air China's international gateway in the carrier's route network. According to Air China's summer/autumn schedule 2015, the carrier will operate from east China to 49 international and regional destinations, including Paris, Munich, Milan, Sydney, Seoul and Taipei, offering more convenient flights to travelers from China and other parts of the world.
