LONDON, July 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Chat app underpinned by Acision's forge SDK to deliver innovative rich communications capabilities and video streaming to users

ACS (Asset Consulting Services), a development house which designs and creates apps for iOS, Android and Windows devices, has partnered with Acision, the global leader in mobile engagement services and industry innovator in WebRTC technology, to implement rich communications functionality into its WhichApp private messaging app.

Available on the Apple App store and Google Play, ACS's WhichApp is used by 700,000 people today, sending over 66 million messages per month. The new and updated service, named 'WhichApp Now', launched in May 2015, leverages forge by Acision to provide users with an innovative chat experience, adding real-time video capabilities in the background to chat messaging. The integration with the forge SDK enables secure, real-time video messaging, all at the touch of a button.

Stefano Galizia, Co-Founder and CTO of ACS, commented: "For the first time, real-time, live streaming is being integrated into our chat app.forge by Acision has enabled us to launch WhichApp Now service, providing new ways for our users to share experiences and intimate moments, which is innovative and instantaneous. After looking at a number of rich communication SDKs on the market, we selected forge because of its secure technology, as well as its inherent stability and simplicity of integration into our service. We quickly developed and tested the new functionality and, just a month after the launch of the new release, we saw almost double the number of downloads and usage of video minutes in the first 30 days - which is astounding growth."

Eric Bilange, EVP and Head of Rich Engagement Services at Acision said: "Enabling people to better connect with their friends and family with real-time video streaming like WhichApp does is a great example of how applications today should view their user experience. Our forge SDK allows developers to build and easily integrate rich communications into their apps, including 1:1 and group voice, video, chat/IM, presence, recording and notifications and much more. The possibilities that real-time communication opens up is limitless and it will be a great boost to stimulating usage and adoption of any application, including these new over the top (OTT) apps. It is great to be part of the WhichApp success story!"

In the coming months, ACS is planning to add additional features to WhichApp using the forge SDK, including real-time group chat as well as voice and video conferencing. WhichApp also has features such as Ghost Chat, where users can show 'touch and go' moments with pictures and text, which are automatically removed. The app also offers a translation service so that if users receive a message from a friend in a different language it will be automatically translated.
