SHANGHAI, Aug. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CITS American Express Business Travel announced today it has been awarded the "2015 Corporate Travel Management Company of the Year" award at TravelWeekly China's "2015 China Travel and Meetings Industry Awards". This is the fifth consecutive year CITS American Express Business Travel has received this award. The award was presented yesterday in a ceremony at the W Beijing Hotel Chang'an in Beijing.

Marco Pellizzer, Vice President, China and Hong Kong, American Express Global Business Travel, said: "Once again, we are enormously grateful to TravelWeekly China for this award and everyone who voted for CITS American Express Business Travel. It is an honor to receive this award for the fifth year in a row, and see our continued efforts recognized by our industry and of course business travelers.

"Our focus at CITS American Express Business Travel has always been to help our customers to drive improvements in their travel programs, and to advance the business travel sector overall in China through technology, local expertise and global best practice. We are very proud of the contributions we have made thus far to advancing corporate travel in China and look forward to growing and evolving in this rapidly changing environment."

By combining the global expertise of American Express Global Business Travel - currently celebrating 100 years of American Express powering business through travel - and the local insight of China International Travel Service (CITS) in one joint venture, CITS American Express Business Travel is in a unique position to provide customers with global best practice and local insight.

Within the past year, CITS American Express Business Travel launched a new mobile travel app in conjunction with TravelSky, allowing travelers to make and change reservations on-the-go as well as keep track of their itineraries, last minute cancellations, changes of departure gate, and manage ticket changes and refunds. CITS American Express Business Travel has also demonstrated an ongoing commitment to educating and advancing the corporate travel industry overall in China through initiatives like the China Business Travel Forum, held in Shanghai annually, and the recent launch of its first WeChat account. Through WeChat, CITS American Express Business Travel shares significant business travel news, as well as thought leadership and other items of interest.

Now in its thirteenth year, the "China Travel and Meetings Industry Awards" recognizes the best enterprises in China's travel, meetings and incentives industry. Award nominees were initially selected by a panel of industry representatives, and then readers of TravelWeekly China and M&C China were prompted to cast their votes, which ultimately determined the winner of each category.
