Thirteen volunteers from various business units within the Xinhua Finance Group, including Xinhua Finance Media ("XFMedia") COO Mr. Zhu Shan and President Mr. Graham Earnshaw, attended the opening ceremony of the Beibao Library. Also in attendance were representatives from the Redcross Society of Hohhot, including President Mr. Liu Cheng’en, Vice-Chairman of Huhhot CPPCC and Vice Executive President of the Redcross Society Mr. Lu Zhaojun, Secretary of Party Leadership Group of the Society Ms. Yun Shuqi, and Secretary-General Mr. Hao Sibaya; as well as representatives from the Qingshuihe County Government, including Vice Secretary of County Party Committee Mr. Lv Ba, NPC Standing Committee Vice-Chairman Mr. Wen Liping, Deputy Chief and President of the Redcross Society of the County Ms. Yao Hongjie, and the Head of United Front Work Department Mr. Wang Shixiong.

Mr. Zhu Shan, XFMedia COO said: "It gives me great pride and happiness to see the establishment of a new Xinhua Finance library that will give underprivileged rural Chinese, young and old, access to books and a chance to escape the confines of poverty through education. I would like to thank the Redcross Society of Hohhot and the Qingshuihe County Government for their support and assistance in realizing this library. In addition to this, I would also like to thank the committed employees of the Xinhua Finance Group worldwide for their contributions. It is only with their unwavering compassion and determination that the Foundation has been able to extend what it has done in Ningxia to Inner Mongolia."

President of the Redcross Society of Hohhot Mr. Liu Chengen said: "It is my utmost honor to be here today to express my gratitude to Xinhua Finance and welcome them to Inner Mongolia. Inner Mongolia is a region on the northern frontiers of China rich in natural resources. To tap these natural resources and further develop the region in the future, Inner Mongolia will however require a large pool of talented individuals. As a result, the Xinhua Finance Library Foundation has identified the need to foster learning among local residents in impoverished regions and has acted by providing them access to books and other resources. In this fashion, local residents are now able to further enrich their knowledge and help develop their home region. In the future, we will continue to provide our support to such charitable endeavors."

In addition to contributing funds and books, Xinhua Finance Group employees have also assisted with the construction of the Library. Three months prior to the opening of the Library, seven volunteers from the Xinhua Finance Group physically participated in digging the foundation for the Library in May. Also, thirteen volunteers arrived at the Library a few days before its opening to paint walls, assemble bookshelves, stock bookshelves and decorate the Library premises.

The Foundation has also helped to supply the Library with 2,000 additional books and 200 sets of sports & recreational equipments. The total 100,000 RMB cost incurred for the Library have been contributed solely by the worldwide employees and associates of the Xinhua Finance Group.

The Xinhua Finance Library Foundation was founded by the Xinhua Finance Group in 2005. In the last three years, the Foundation has provided financial assistance and books to one existing village library in Ningxia Province, completed the building and construction of two additional Xinhua Finance libraries in the province and donated a total of 5,000 books to these libraries.
