SHANGHAI, Oct. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Unilever, with its Regenerate Project, was awarded one of the top 12 best innovative practice cases in the "Innovation and Development: Multinational companies in Shanghai" summit today.

The winners are chosen among 79 participating cases from MNCs that have a strong innovative presence in Shanghai. A total of more than 5.72 million votes were cast through the online and mobile platforms of the organizers, Shanghai Daily and Eastday.com. And, a judge panel was invited to review and select the Top 12 innovative practice cases, which are able to best represent Shanghai's efforts and advantages in pushing ahead its ambition on innovation.

The original idea of Unilever's REGENERATE project, started in Unilever Global R&D center in Shanghai, China is targeted towards applying advanced biomineralization technology, which is still in the front line of scientific research, to oral care products.

After ten years effort, the project has led to 9 international patents and the successful launch of a new product in UK, France, Italy, Brazil and the Gulf region. Regenerate products are clinically proven to help regenerate enamel by restoring its mineral content and micro hardness with regular use.
