Food Week Korea 2015: The World of Flavor

Successful Celebration of Its 10th Anniversary

SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Food Week Korea 2015 ended in great success celebrating its 10th anniversary with a number of special events including the global forum, strategic seminars, and conferences related to the food industry. The theme of this year's show, A World of Flavor, was celebrated at events such as the Spanish cuisine cooking show, and the ASEAN Culture Festival, which invited representatives from the ten ASEAN member states to display their unique food and beverage products.

The exhibition saw 79,520 visitors, including 32,073 business people from the food industry, over the course of four days from November 18th to 21st, 2015 at Coex, Seoul. This was an increase of 60% over the 2014 show attendance, proving that Food Week Korea is one of the top exhibitions in the food industry that offers an ideal venue for business meetings and conferences. Overall, 909 companies participated in the exhibition and 148 companies were from 30 overseas countries, comprising 17% of the total exhibitors.

A number of overseas buyers, including the buyer delegations from Romania and Iran, were attracted by the 1:1 Biz-matching Program held from Nov. 18th-19th. More than 600 meetings took place this year, producing an incredible 30 billion won ($25.5 million) in trade volume.

Based on the survey, 68% of exhibitors were satisfied with the show and desired to exhibit again at Food Week Korea 2016. One company from Shandong, China mentioned, "We are very satisfied with this exhibition. The organization and the staff team were great. Hopefully next time there will be more exhibitors and more professional buyers. Looking forward to coming again."
