CHONGQING, China, Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cao Hanqing, a junior student at Jilin University, has successfully been granted the opportunity of an internship at Changan Ford to realize his automotive dreams.
In September of this year, Changan Ford Cup University Auto Debate Northeast Regional Final was held at Jilin University. As a debate lover, Cao Hanqing came to watch his schoolmates' excellent debating skills. More importantly, from the video that played at the opening of the event, he was inspired by the culture of the company and encouraged by Marin Burela, President and CEO of Changan Ford. From then, his love and passion for debating, and desire for having a deeper understanding of auto industry, remained unabated.
Three months later, Cao Hanqing came to Chongqing, all the way from Jilin, to pursue his dream. At this year's University Auto Debate final on Dec 6th, right in front of Burela, Cao Hanqing drummed up all his courage to ask for a career opportunity at Changan Ford.
"'Follow your heart! Believe in yourself! Never give up! Never stop dreaming!' Those words by Burela moved me deeply," said Cao Hanqing. "I could sense the humanity and responsibility of the people and the company. I just want to be one of them. This is why I came to the national final in Chongqing and applied for a position directly to Mr. Burela himself."
Cao Hanqing is one of the many university students who was inspired and stimulated by the Changan Ford Cup University Auto Debate Championship over the past ten years.
Across China, 27 prestigious universities participated in this year's contest and Sichuan University won the championship by defeating the Tianjin University in the final competition held at Chongqing University.
Launched in 2006, the University Debate Championship has been jointly hosted by Changan Ford, Motor Trend magazine and the China College Auto Union. Debaters of the first several years have already launched successful careers.

The debaters from Sichuan University not only won an important title, but more importantly, the opportunity of a lifetime. They will be sent to Ford Motor's headquarters in Detroit by Changan Ford. There, they will be treated as honored guests at the birthplace of the global auto industry. They will feel what Changan Ford feel, as they walk the same ground where Ford History was made. With the support of Changan Ford, Cao Hanqing has embarked on the path towards realizing his great automotive dream.
