Artwork Wanted for the 7th Beijing International Art Biennale

BEIJING, April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 7th Beijing International Art Biennale ("Beijing Biennale") with its theme "The Silk Road and World's Civilizations" will be held from September 24 to October 15, 2017 (to be determined) at the National Art Museum of China. We welcome artists from all over the world to submit their applications.

Beijing Biennale was initiated in 2003 and has been successfully held six times. The participating countries have increased from 45 to 96, the participating artists have totaled more than 3,600 and there have been more than 1 million visitors over the past 10 years. As a platform for international cultural exchanges, Beijing Biennale adopts the cooperative mode of the Chinese curatorial committee and the international curators, and it was praised as the biggest art biennale mainly consisting of paintings and sculptures.

Participation Guide

I. Participation Requirements: The works to be exhibited should be mainly composed of paintings and sculptures. However, a certain amount of video and installation works is also acceptable. For the specific requirements of size and weight of the works, please visit http://www.bjbiennale.com.cn/en/program.aspx to see the regulation of the 7th Beijing Biennale. Artists may apply to the Beijing Biennale freely with no registration or participating fee.

II. Participation Method: All artists should each submit the photos within 3 works (completed within the last 5 years) to the Curatorial Committee for selection and should send Registration Form for Participating Artists and Caption of Works for the 7th Beijing International Art Biennale, China 2017. To download the forms from the website of the Beijing Biennale, visit www.bjbiennale.com.cn. The deadline is December 25, 2016.

III. Rights and Obligations: The Organizing Committee covers the cost of round-trip transportation of foreign works. The participating artists should cover the cost of round-trip insurance of transportation by themselves for their works. The Organizing Committee will be responsible for the insurance of the works during the exhibition. The Organizing Committee of Beijing Biennale will hold an opening ceremony, international symposium, and cover 4 days' accommodations in Beijing for selected foreign artists who participate in the symposium.
