NEW YORK, July 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CorpStarter™, a New York based accelerator for growing companies, successfully wrapped up its China Venture Contest 2016 in Beijing as the city's second highest heavy rain alert was going on for the whole day. Getting through four-week intense competition, six teams were able to make it to the final on July 20th and competed for funding and mentoring services from CorpStarter and its partners both in US and China.

"With hundreds of flights being cancelled and travel chaos due to Beijing's heaviest rain ever this year, we're lucky and grateful to have everyone here celebrating our first contest held in Beijing," said Lijie Zhu, CorpStarter CEO. "This is a challenge for us, but we are expecting a bigger one coming next month in New York, which would be the highest pitch event up in the air."

This bigger challenge is not only for the CorpStarter team but also for the presenting companies. CorpStarter will hold its North America Venture Contest 2016 in New York, a three day event lasting from Aug 18th to 20th, including CorpStarter™ Star Show 2016, One-On-One Meetings, and a Hot Air Balloon Pitch Event. Finalist teams will be sent up to 2000 feet height by hot-air balloons and pitch investors while flying with them during the one-hour balloon ride.

This year's CorpStarter™ China Venture Contest was co-organized by CorpStarter and China Research & Development Center for Internet of Things. 17 judges and speakers were invited, among whom included Jian Jin, deputy director of China Internet Network Information Center; Eryue Liu, senior partner of Hejun Consulting; Shuwu Liu, HMZQ Investment Management; Pengwei Wang, chairman of Beijing Guorun Venture Capital; and Hao Yang, founder of FORTIZ Fund Management. The event also featured a panel discussion on branding strategy, risk management, and industry trends in China and US."

Following the panel discussion was the three hours contest. The winning team was Beijing ThinkRise Technology, an intelligent hardware and system solutions provider for creating comfortable and sustainable environment. Runner ups included Zhizhuo Education, a comprehensive O2O education platform and 720 Health Technology, a next-generation smart home system. The three winners will have opportunity to participate the CorpStarter™ Star Show 2016 in New York.

Republican congressional candidate Sue Googe will speak at the CorpStarter™ Star Show, sharing her stories of entrepreneurship.
