The Congress aims to provide an international platform and technical forum for engineers, academicians, scientists and researchers to share/exchange ideas and knowledge on their current research and future endeavours. Embracing the theme, 'harnessing biotechnology for a sustainable and green future', Dr Yumi Z Has-Yun Hashim, Asia Plantation Capital's Scientific Board advisor and an Associate Professor at the IIUM Kulliyyah of Engineering, presented her research paper on Agarwood -- entitled 'The Cytokinetic Study of Uninfected Agarwood Branch Ethanolic Extract on Breast Cancer Cells' -- in the Biotechnology Engineering category of the Congress.

The objective of the paper was to examine the application of Agarwood as a treatment for a variety of ailments, including inflammatory-related diseases and cancer, and its efficacy in relation to certain drugs. Conclusions were based on reaction times, as well as the paucity of side effects that Agarwood presented. The study also proves a kinetic reaction of Agarwood to diseases.
