The ABA regional conference aptly named TRADING UP is themed 'Accessing Opportunities for Australian Business in Asia', the event will represent the largest convergence of Australian business chambers in Asia and will bring a target audience of over 500 delegates to Malaysia to explore the opportunities that growing demand in Asia has created.

Leigh Howard who is currently Chairman of Australian Business Asia and the Malaysia Australia Business Council explained some of the challenges for Australian business in the region, 'Trends in Asia have a direct impact on Australian business, many companies are faced with the challenge of expanding into Asia and many have failed because they try to do it on their own, the Australian Business Asia network and the various AusChams allow companies to start with one foot in the door.'

When speaking about the foundations that the various governments have established he stated that 'Australia has several bilateral and regional Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with different countries in Asia, yet many businesses have yet to take advantage of these agreements for access to larger markets, innovation, human capital and access to capital that expansion into Asia can bring.'

Looking at the level of reciprocal business 'Australia has also become an investment destination for many companies from Asia, we have seen this in the property, technology, healthcare, tourism and food security sectors and we expect this trend to continue as the relationship grows.'

Moving forward and looking at factors effecting mutual economic growth, 'These trends are already affecting most industries in Australia and we have created this event to allow Australian business leaders to get ahead of the curve and to link them with likeminded business people in Asia,' concluded Mr. Howard

TRADING UP will bring together the Australian companies in the early stages of expanding into Asia coupled with the leading Australian companies already established in Asia and matching that with Asian companies with interests in Australia.

TRADING UP 'Accessing Opportunities for Australian Business in Asia' will be held from 9th to 11th November 2016, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. Delegates will hear from high profile speakers who have already made an impact on different markets in the region through nine industry-specific plenary sessions, for more information visit www.AusBizAsia.com
