CLEVELAND, Oct. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- E2G announced the release of API RBI Version 10 and SagePlus™ software, delivering new capabilities and enhancements. "The focus of this release goes beyond complying with the most recent updates to API RP 581 3rd Edition. It delivers enhancements that will allow users to make more informed decisions for their facilities," said David A. Osage, P.E. - President and CEO of E2G|The Equity Engineering Group, Inc.

E2G's API RBI Version 10 is fully compliant with all features of API RP 581, including the latest probability of failure methods; Level 1 and Level 2 consequence models, including the consideration of inventory groups; and inspection planning for all types of fixed equipment referenced in API RP 581. The E2G software incorporates inspection planning for pressure relief devices and heat exchanger tube bundles and integrates an advanced algorithm to optimize inspection plans based on risk reduction and cost. In addition, the ability to select the 2nd and 3rd Edition methods will allow users to evaluate which 3rd Edition risk calculation changes will have a major impact on the inspection plans for their equipment so that the migration of plant equipment to 3rd Edition compliance can be scheduled.

Osage continued, "Our alliance with Mistras PCMS creates unique opportunities for both organizations. With the integration of DamagePlus™ and PRDWise™ qualitative PRD assessment module, and the pending addition of E2G's API RBI with PCMS, we continue to leverage our extensive industry expertise to develop innovative solutions beyond our proprietary platform." Jim Redmon, Vice President – Asset Integrity Management Services for PCMS added, "We are delighted to be offering these modules to our customers, who can expect a seamless experience when operating them on the PCMS platform."

To further enhance the user experience, analytics will be employed to guide E2G's decisions related to investment of resources and development efforts. Tom Seffernick, E2G Director of Technology and Software Products explained, "As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, these analytics will allow E2G to focus and prioritize our development efforts on tools that will have the greatest impact on our users."

Additional Software Enhancements
SagePlus incorporates a large collection of analysis products and applies the most recent updates to the API 579 codes. It offers numerous features, including an intuitive user interface, the ability to store documentation files and photographs, and easy collaboration and data sharing among users, and much more.

Improvements to SagePlus include detailed calculation reports that show how design or in-service code acceptance criteria are used. Each report displays the relevant code equations as written in the standard, the code equations with numeric values substituted from the user's case, and conclusions and results based on the design or in-service code acceptance criteria. These reports are an invaluable tool in reporting compliance to jurisdictional bodies.

The RP530 module for heater tube thickness calculations has been improved in the areas of creep damage and remaining life evaluation. The method used to sub-increment past and future time increments based on metal loss has been improved, resulting in fewer sub-increments for the creep damage calculation, while vastly improving the accuracy of calculated stress.

Real time 2-D axisymmetric rendering with dimensions and numeric values – as well as 3-D component rendering with the ability to rotate, zoom, and display a cut section of the component – has been added to the SHELL, NOZZLE, and FLANGE modules delivered in SagePlus. This capability replaces the fixed reference drawings for the component geometry and is part of E2G's continuing effort to enhance the visualization capability of SagePlus.

DamagePlus, based on API RP 571 and WRC 489, is a quick reference guide to help users identify and understand the potential damage mechanisms that can cause costly fixed equipment failure. E2G and Mistras now offer context sensitive integration of DamagePlus and the PCMS inspection data management system. This integration offers plant workers the ability to gain immediate insight into the damage mechanisms associated with the specific equipment in their charge and will be followed by the integration of DamageiQ – E2G's mobile-first web extension to the DamagePlus family. Many improvements have been made to the software, including the addition of the non-post weld heat treat carbon steel Nelson curve per the latest edition of API 941. Enhancements to DamageiQ, including code required thickness calculations, flange ratings, and direct access to the E2G materials database, are coming soon.
