What is boss fiction? An editor from iReader said that "boss fiction" means that in the story, the hero is a boss who is rich and steamy, and the heroine tends to be a poor but charming woman.

According to the report, the top two popular fictions are The Love of Mr. Arrogant, and Escape from Marriage, which are both boss fictions.

On Facebook, iReader has tens of thousands of followers. They look for popular books then read them on iReader and also recommend their favorites to friends.

Why is "boss fiction" so fascinating?

In these books, the hero usually has high social status, a large amount of property, and a charming appearance. The three together constitute his unique charm, and the heroine generally is the so-called "Cinderella", poor but beautiful. Fifty Shades of Grey is just about this kind of story, which is one of the best-selling books in America and has achieved great success around the world. It is conceivable that many young people love this kind of story.

Young people love romantic stories, and it seems no different from ancient times. The modern version of "Cinderella Falling in Love with a Prince" is the most popular among them. This kind of story is easy for readers to identify with the characters' feelings.

"It satisfied all my fantasies about romance. Reading this kind of books is just so cool. I don't need to think too much but just read it for fun," said a 25-year old girl in Kuala Lumpur.

According to an employee from iReader, fictions like "The Love of Mr. Arrogant" and "Escape from Marriage" are popular in China as well. More than one million fans on Sina Weibo are talking about The Love of Mr. Arrogant.

In China, iReader is one of the most popular eBook reader apps. It has 500 thousand digital copyrights and serves 600 million users.
