TORONTO, October 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global eTrade Services (GeTS), the subsidiary of CrimsonLogic, a leading provider of eGovernment products and services, has launched the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Prior Notice (PN) System Interface (SI). The web-based solution is designed to simplify and streamline food and drug imports into the United States (US).

The United States is the world's second biggest importer and Canada is the second largest goods trading partner with US$575 billion in total (two way) goods trade during 2015. Canada is also the largest supplier of agricultural imports to the US, with imports valued at US$22 billion in 2015[1]. The launch of the GeTS FDA PNSI platform is expected to simplify food and related shipments enabling greater security in global supply chains by reducing trade risk and increase efficiency.

Mr Eugene Wong, Chairman of CrimsonLogic said: "As a subsidiary of CrimsonLogic, GeTS aims to accelerate global trade through worldwide connectivity. The addition of GeTS FDA PNSI brings us a step closer to our goal of building a global Single Window, by offering a comprehensive suite of online, on-demand trade facilitation services that helps exporters and importers meet the regulatory and compliance requirements for countries around the world."

The platform offers CrimsonLogic customers an easy way to upload information required by the FDA ahead of shipments reaching port and customs authorities. The requirement to disclose shipment information applies to the import of food (for both human and animal consumption) into or through the United States. With simplified access and the ability to view and track responses from FDA directly, it enables businesses to save time in manual upload of information and ensure minimal shipment delays.

As a pioneer of Single Window systems, CrimsonLogic has worked with governments in more than 16 countries to streamline their trade processes, increasing efficiency and enhancing trade competitiveness. More than 5,000 customers globally use CrimsonLogic services to facilitate global trade transactions; more than 20% of highway shipments crossing the US-Canada border use CrimsonLogic systems.
