Edison Investment Research is delighted to announce it has agreed with the Singapore Exchange (SGX) to be the international research provider of a non-rated globally distributed research product for the newly launched SGX StockFacts Research Program. SGX StockFacts aims to enhance equity research coverage and strengthen the role of research for SGX-listed stocks and the wider investment community. Stock exchanges are increasingly recognising that the lack of research on listed stocks is not in companies' best interests. They also recognise that trading volumes are increasingly generated not just by the institutional investment community, but also by the private wealth and retail investor communities, which lack access to reliable data and high-quality research. As a result, exchanges are allocating larger budgets to the provision of research as they compete with each other to become attractive listing venues.

Analysis from research firms like Edison is an important and globally recognised way to promote the proper pricing of listed companies. High-quality equity research helps examine the information released by issuers and assists in establishing a context for businesses within their local and global investor marketplace. With over 80 analysts organised by sector expertise, Edison researches over 400 companies worldwide, making it one of the world's largest investment research firms. Its research is sent out via its extensive distribution platform and affiliated networks, making its research available on professional and internet information platforms worldwide.

Neil Shah, director of research at Edison Investment Research said: "With regulatory changes from Europe having a global impact on the traditional sell-side's ability to cover a large number of stocks economically, we expect a significant change in the landscape around the provision of research. Exchanges have a key role to play in facilitating equity research. Over the last four years, we have gotten to know the SGX well and we like its innovative approach in launching StockFacts, a tool that makes discovery of stocks easier. The StockFacts Research Program looks to build on the StockFacts portal and provide further information for investors to better understand the stocks they are screening. Edison will provide a non-rated product that looks to put SGX stocks into an international context for investors."

SGX StockFacts was initially launched in 2014 as collaboration between SGX and S&P Capital IQ. It allows investors to filter stocks with up to 20 screening criteria.
