DHL Express was also named Last Mile Partner of the Year by Supply Chain Asia in recognition of the company's comprehensive and highly-lauded range of express solutions throughout the region, a testament to the pace of innovation and expansion that Lee has overseen within just one year.

"When I started working in logistics, it was a rather new and emerging industry that I assumed was simply about moving goods from one place to another," Lee said. "But in the past 20 years, I have witnessed first-hand how e-commerce, automation, and the huge demand from markets across Asia have transformed logistics and supply chains into far more precise and responsive operations than we would've ever imagined they would be.

"Being named by Supply Chain Asia as one of the region's top logistics leaders brings me great joy, but it also encourages reflection on what the next 20 years in logistics will entail. Success in this industry now demands higher levels of innovation, optimization, and customer service than ever before, and my mission is to establish such a trajectory for DHL Express that will continue well into the future."

Since taking leadership of DHL Express Asia Pacific in January 2016, Lee has overseen a range of innovation projects including the recent launch of DHL's South Asia Hub, one of the company's most automated and digitized facilities designed to improve capacity and connectivity region-wide. Lee's 19 years at DHL have also seen him drive significant growth in various parts of Asia, including doubling the revenues of DHL Express Hong Kong and Macau during his tenure as Managing Director for both countries.

"Ken's career includes numerous testimonies to his excellent leadership during a period of intense change for the logistics industry, navigating turbulent market forces with a visionary approach to people, technology and process optimization," said Paul Lim, Founder/President, Supply Chain Asia. "His lengthy track record of successful business transformation initiatives, adoption of digital technology as part of the supply chain, and consistent revenue growth all contributed to our decision to induct Ken into the Hall of Fame."

Under Lee's leadership, DHL Express Asia Pacific has received over 70 awards for outstanding logistics performance this year, including Best Express Operator for the 27th time at the 2016 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards; as well as over 30 HR awards honoring the company's reputation as an employer of choice throughout the region.

"Ken is never content to rest on his laurels, and with his steadfast commitment to service quality, uncompromising growth and people development, I believe that for his career -- and the operations of DHL Express Asia Pacific under his guidance -- the best is yet to come," said Ken Allen, CEO, DHL Express.

Supply Chain Asia Hall of Fame award is given out to outstanding industry veterans, recognized for their outstanding service in the industry, entrepreneurial and innovative approach, and cross-cultural success. Previous winners include Mr Alfred Hoffman, President, Kuehne + Nagel, Asia and Mr Essa Al Saleh, Chief Executive Officer, Agility Logistics, as well as  luminaries such as former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dato' Seri Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad.

The Hall of Fame Award was presented to Ken Lee by Dr Robert Yap, Founding Chairman, Supply Chain Asia and Paul Lim, Founder/President, Supply Chain Asia.
