Jonathan Hausman to lead newly created department as Managing Director & Head of Global Strategic Relationships

TORONTO, Dec. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bjarne Graven Larsen, Chief Investment Officer, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, today announced that Jonathan Hausman has been promoted to lead the new Global Strategic Relationships department, which is responsible for developing and cultivating mutually beneficial investment relationships around the world. His appointment as Managing Director and Head of Global Strategic Relationships is effective January 1, 2017.

Jonathan and his new team will be perfectly situated in the organization, working across our asset classes and supporting our teams in all regions globally to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones." Mr. Graven Larsen noted that this new team will integrate Ontario Teachers' efforts with its partner network in the Latin American region.

Mr. Hausman joined Ontario Teachers' in 2004.  He moves into his new role from Ontario Teachers' Capital Markets department, where he has been responsible for the Fund's global hedge fund portfolio, as well as its internal global macro and systematic trading strategies. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Mr. Hausman was Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, where he managed sovereign risk strategy and advised government clients on their external financings and international credit ratings from the London, New York and Hong Kong offices.

"He leads our investment missions to new markets, and has led the Investment Division's Emerging Markets Committee for several years. He brings a depth of knowledge and appreciation for the unique characteristics of each region in which we invest and how best to integrate our efforts there."

Jonathan holds a BA (Hons.) from McGill University, an MSc. (Econ.) from the London School of Economics, and an MPA from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. He also has ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and chairs the Advisory Board of the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and the Canadian Council for the Americas.
