HONG KONG, Dec. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodman Group (Goodman or the Group) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the sixth Goodman Interlink Magic Mile, which will be held at its landmark property in Tsing Yi, Hong Kong on Sunday 26 March 2017.

The Goodman Interlink Magic Mile is an annual one-mile charity run, with participants racing up the 15-floor cargo ramp of Goodman's Interlink warehouse and distribution property. For the third consecutive year, Goodman is partnering with the food bank, Feeding Hong Kong, and is once again aiming to raise HK$1 million which will enable the charity to distribute 200,000 extra meals to local families in Hong Kong.

Since the commencement of the partnership between Goodman and Feeding Hong Kong in 2015, the Goodman Interlink Magic Mile has raised a total of HK$2.65 million, exceeding its fund raising target of HK$1 million in March this year. The event received the generous support of organisations, including from platinum sponsors ING Bank and Macquarie Capital, and gold sponsors Allen & Overy, CBRE, Centaline Commercial, Credit Agricole CIB, DBS, DHL, DTZ | Cushman & Wakefield, King & Wood Mallesons, NWS Holdings, Knight Frank and Savills.

Kristoffer Harvey, Chief Executive Officer, Greater China, Goodman said, "After the success of this year's Magic Mile event, we are excited to once again be partnering with Feeding Hong Kong to support the excellent work it does to ensure local families receive the basic nutrition that they need. Every year, the event brings Goodman staff, customers, business partners and their families together to help raise money for this notable cause, and we are very thankful for their remarkable generousity over the past five years. We would like to invite everyone to participate in next year's event to ensure Feeding Hong Kong continues to be able to provide an additional 200,000 meals to the people most in need in Hong Kong."

Gabrielle Kirstein, Executive Director of Feeding Hong Kong said, "Feeding Hong Kong is delighted to be working with Goodman once again at the Goodman Interlink Magic Mile to support families in need in Hong Kong. One in five Hong Kong children do not receive three meals a day, and a third of seniors are unable to fulfil their basic dietary needs. At the same time, over 3,600 tonnes of food is discarded in landfills every day. We are incredibly grateful that the sponsorship raised at this event will help us both deliver nutritious food to local charities and reduce food waste."

The Goodman Interlink Magic Mile Charity Ramp Run is a unique annual charity event that is split into three separate races attracting individual competitors, and corporate and family teams to run up the ramp.

As per tradition, participants who choose to race in fancy dress will have the opportunity to win prizes for the best-dressed team or individual. In addition, the event will feature various family fair activities, including live stage performances and children's entertainment.

To register for the event, please visit the Goodman Interlink Magic Mile Charity Ramp Run website. Event details are also regularly updated on the Goodman Interlink Magic Mile Facebook page.

In Greater China, Goodman supports the local community through a number of initiatives and charities, including the The Fred Hollows Foundation, Fu Hong Society, the Shanghai Qingcongquan Training Center for Children with Special Needs (QCQ), the Children's Cancer Foundation and the Shanghai Charity Foundation.

Established in 2009, Feeding Hong Kong collects, sorts, stores and distributes donated food to some of the poorest people in Hong Kong. It aims to fight hunger in the city while reducing the amount of food waste that is produced. It works to raise awareness about poverty, food insecurity and food waste, as well as promoting healthy eating habits and nutrition.
