New Hangzhou Foreign Economy & Trade Plaza center delivers property solutions to help business break through markets

HANGZHOU, China, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Regus has opened a second center in Hangzhou, offering revolutionary property solutions that enable smart companies to enter the province’s growing market with zero up-front capital expenditure and on flexible terms.

Regus Group (LSE: RGU), the leading global provider of workplace solutions, opened the new business center in January. It’s located in the Foreign Economy & Trade Plaza in the downtown central business district of Hangzhou, one of China’s most rapidly growing cities and an up and coming market. Its GDP is the highest among cities in the Zheijiang province and Forbes selected it as the most business-friendly city in China for two years in a row.

Despite the recession, business continues to invest in this thriving area, with Ikea, China Unicom (Hong Kong), US IT and services company CSC, and Chinese telecom equipment maker Datang just some of the recent investors. The Chinese authorities are also meeting the challenges of the new economic situation head on, with projects and developments to support continuous business growth.

“For business professionals determined to beat the recession, it is a good time to test this growing market,” said Hans Leijten, Regus Country General Manager - East Asia. “The new Regus center provides everything companies need to do business, with a strong competitive foothold that will help them weather the economic downturn.”

The new center - on level 8 of a building partially occupied by Provincial Foreign Economy and Trade Bureau - features workspace that companies can configure in any way they want on terms that meet their needs. Eight customers have already signed up.

Jerry Cai, Vice President of Winsafe International Limited said: “With the flexibility Regus gives us we are confident that the business can do well, even in these difficult times. We wanted an office solution that would enable us to adapt quickly to change, to give us real competitive advantage, and where we could get started with minimum fuss. All businesses are seeking ways of reducing overheads and we’re pleased with the money we’ve saved on space and that none of our resources had to be tied up in the building.”

Companies setting up a satellite office can do so at the new center without the risk of entering a new untested market. Other Regus products such as Virtual Office, mean companies don’t even need a physical presence - they can test the waters using a local address and a telephone answering service.

With two centers in Hangzhou, the Regus China portfolio has now expanded to more than 30 business centres. These include centers in second tier cities such as Dalian and Chengdu, as well as possible expansion into other cities such as Tianjin - another rapidly growing Chinese city.

Regus expects its pioneering workplace solutions to flourish in such a progressive environment.
