The "Chinese Dream" Lands In New York's Times Square

SHAOXING, China, Mar. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The planet's most conspicuous advertisement location - New York's Times Square, "the Crossroads of the World" - has been occupied with Chinese elements once again. On Mar. 2, an advertisement slogan, "Dreams Come True in China", appeared on a giant LED in Times Square, attracting lots of tourists.

The advertisement was put out during the important annual political sessions of China, and is hence regarded as an action to greet "Chinese Dream". Similar to "American Dream", "Chinese Dream" is a well-known concept in China and aims at calling a national unity to realize "the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation".

However, the advertisement was not published by Chinese government, and the distinctive red logo at the bottom of the screen, "Sleemon" reveals that it comes from a company, Sleemon Xilinmen Furniture Co., Ltd. (Sleemon). Sleemon is a bed clothing enterprise founded thirty-three years ago, on March 3, 1984. Having developed from a small workshop into a world-famous business, the company is a perfect example for the realization of the "Chinese Dream".

So what is behind "Dreams Come True in China"? It is believed that with the rising tide of private entrepreneurship, China has become a promised land for good dreams to come true, which may be the implication of the advertisement.
