Invitees to 12th Hakuho Foundation Japanese Research Fellowship Announced

TOKYO, March 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hakuho Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation based in Tokyo, Japan, on March 8 announced a list of researchers who have been invited to participate in the 12th Hakuho Foundation Japanese Research Fellowship.

- Invitees:
After rigorous screening, 14 researchers were selected from eight countries (mainland China, France, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, UK, Ukraine and USA). Five researchers were selected in the Japanese language and Japanese-language education research category, and nine in the Japanese literature and Japanese culture research category. Please see the attachment for more information about the invited researchers.

- Fellowship period:
September 1, 2017-August 31, 2018 (either long-term (1 year) or short-term (6 months))

The Hakuho Foundation program invites leading international researchers to Japan. With the goals of further strengthening the fundamentals of international research into Japan and deepening understanding of Japan, the Hakuho Foundation Japanese Research Fellowship invites leading international researchers of the Japanese language, Japanese-language education, Japanese literature and Japanese culture to Japan to conduct residential research. The Hakuho Foundation was established in 1970 to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of Hakuhodo Inc. It was recognized and has been operating as a public interest incorporated foundation since April 2011, following the introduction of new regulations relating to public interest corporations.
