MACAU and HONG KONG, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- StarWorld Hotel and Casino ("StarWorld") announced its signature property located in downtown Macau has won "Best Casino Interior Design" awarded by the International Gaming Awards (IGA), one of the most respected awarding organizations in the gaming industry.

StarWorld's shimmering facade, breathtaking interior and its beautifully designed casino collectively triumphed over 5 extremely competitive properties in the "Best Casino Interior Design" category in 2009. These casinos include Las Vegas-based The Palazzo, Casino Monte Carlo in France, Shangri-La Storm in Russia and the Isle Capri and Opera House, both in the UK.

StarWorld is located in downtown Macau, where land space is scarce. Developing a 39-storey building on reclaimed land added additional layers of challenges to the development team. The vertically-designed StarWorld houses a 140,000 square feet mass floor casino, 5 floors of VIP gaming halls with an average of 4,000 to 6,000 square feet per hall, 507 hotel rooms and suites and numerous restaurants and entertainment outlets.

Some factors got better score than others but overall StarWorld got the highest score and its recognition.
