A Professional Accounting Pathway for LCCI Students

YANGON, Myanmar, May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Through a collaboration between LCCI in Myanmar and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), LCCI students can now access a professional accounting pathway to become Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA).

LCCI students now have the opportunity to study the Certificate in Business Accounting and then continue to the professional level of the CIMA qualification. The CGMA designation will be awarded once they complete all the exams at the professional level and after gaining a minimum of three years relevant work experience. LCCI students will receive a special bundled pricing for the Certificate in Business Accounting which includes the registration, exemption and exam fees.

In addition, LCCI Level 3 students will be exempted from 2 out of the 4 exams in the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting if they pass both the LCCI Certificate in Accounting/Financial Accounting and the LCCI Certificate in Cost & Management Accounting. Exemptions will only be granted based on the papers completed in LCCI Level 3.

Jason Chan, Emerging Markets Manager, said: "We are very pleased to work with LCCI to provide a professional accounting pathway for LCCI students, leading to the CGMA designation. The skills and competencies of CGMAs are very much in demand by employers around the world and LCCI students can be assured of a bright future when they become CGMAs. CGMA is a prestigious and internationally recognised designation."

Employers worldwide trust CGMAs to guide critical business decisions to drive long-term performance and bottom-line results. CGMA is awarded by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (also known as the Association), a 650,000 strong community of members and students in public and management accounting. The Association was established by CIMA and the American Institute of CPAs to power opportunity, trust and prosperity for people, businesses and economies worldwide.
