NEW YORK, May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- LendIt, the world's largest lending and fintech conference, returns to Shanghai on July 15-16 for Lang Di Fintech, China's largest fintech conference. For two days, some of the world's most prominent fintech CEOs and investors will focus on critical topics and issues relevant to the future of finance in the region, including: digital banking, financial inclusion, digital wealth management, bank-technology partnerships, insurtech, and blockchain.

Financial technology in the Asia-Pacific region surpassed the U.S. as investments in the area doubled to $11.2bn in 2016 from $5.2bn in 2015, according to a report from Accenture. Global investment in financial technology grew by 10 percent to $23.2bn in 2016, largely driven by growth in China.

"China has emerged as the center of global fintech innovation and adoption, and LendIt sits at the heart of this surging ecosystem. We welcome Asia's foremost leaders of finance as speakers this year," said Bo Brustkern, co-founder and Chairman of Lang Di Fintech. "China is transforming almost every aspect of financial services. Our speakers will explore Asia's fintech revolution and its impact on the world."

A recent addition to Lang Di's agenda is Max Baucus, Former U.S. Ambassador to the People's Republic of China. Mr. Baucus is uniquely qualified to address issues regarding world trade, US-China relations, and the opportunities and obstacles facing American foreign policy under the Trump administration. As Ambassador to China (2014 - 2017) and Chair of the Senate Finance Committee (2007 - 2014), Max Baucus has extensive experience in issues of international trade. He was deeply involved in orchestrating congressional approval of permanent normal trade relations with China in 2000 and in facilitating China's entrance into the World Trade Organization in 2001.

Mr. Baucus will join other esteemed speakers at Lang Di Fintech 2017, including senior representatives from international banks, leading technology innovators, venture capitalists, regulators, government officials and the media.

Now in its second year, Lang Di 2017 expects over 2,000 delegates, making it the largest annual gathering of fintech leaders in China. Three hundred speakers from five continents will focus on the intersection of technology and financial services in Asia, specifically addressing artificial intelligence, machine learning, identity verification through biometrics, the blockchain's impact on capital markets, the emergence of insurtech, financial inclusion, financial wellness, wealth management for the mass affluent, innovation in real estate technology, applying alternative data to credit underwriting and decisioning, the emergence of digital banking, and fintech cooperation with banks.

LendIt's mission is to connect every major player, platform, investor and service provider in the fintech industry worldwide. Founded in 2013, LendIt has grown to become the definitive fintech conference in the US, Europe and Asia.
