SINGAPORE, July 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TrueMove H, the mobile business arm of True Corporation Plc, garnered two prestigious awards at the annual Frost & Sullivan Asia-Pacific ICT Awards banquet in Singapore.  The two awards TrueMove H received comprise the 2017 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific LTE Service Provider of the Year and Mobile Service Provider. TrueMoney, a subsidiary of True's parent company Charoen Pokphand Group, was also named the 2017 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Telecom Mobile Payment Service Provider of the Year.

In the area of mobile services, the company was also recognized as an organization that continues to revolutionize businesses through its mobile solutions.

"Amid stagnant revenue growth due to intense competition and commodization of data prices in the mobile sector, this award recipient managed to record outstanding 28% revenue growth in 2016.  The company's focus on building superior 4.5/4G networks with the widest nationwide coverage and customer-driven bundled digital services has positioned it firmly as a leader in mobile and LTE services," noted Mr. Avinash Sachdeva, Senior Analyst, Digital Transformation, Frost & Sullivan.

"We are very honored and proud of this achievement, which is a significant step for TrueMove H to become not only a leading mobile operator in our country, Thailand, but also a regional player, which stands strongly to compete in the Asia Pacific region," said Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, Charoen Pokphand Group's CEO and True Corporation's Chairman of the Executive Committee.

"TrueMove H is the only mobile operator in Thailand with the highest number of frequencies, covering as much as four sets across the mobile spectrum, making us the mobile carrier with the largest bandwidth in the country. This gives us a huge competitive advantage because we are now able to provide our subscribers with the fastest mobile data services, which seamlessly enhance lifestyles of people in this digital age," Mr. Chearavanont added.

Ms. Quah Mei Lee, Industry Principal Analyst, Digital Transformation, Frost & Sullivan said that TrueMoney has been successful in building a strong presence in Thailand and is actively building in-roads outside of its Thai base in countries that have tremendous potential for telecom mobile payments solutions such as Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. In terms of active users, it has grown from 100,000 active users in March 2014 to close to 2 million as at end of 2016.

"This award acknowledges True's ability to tap the market potential regionally. Frost & Sullivan anticipates future growth further strengthened by a superior wallet user experience as well as the strong financial backing and global expansion experience of Ant Financial," she added.

The recipients of the annual Frost & Sullivan Asia-Pacific ICT Awards were identified based on an in-depth research conducted by Frost & Sullivan's analysts. The award categories offered each year are carefully reviewed and evaluated to reflect the current market landscape and include new emerging trends. The short-listed companies were evaluated on a variety of actual market performance indicators which include revenue growth; market share and growth in market share; leadership in product innovation; marketing strategy and business development strategy.
