SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 70 of Korea's food enterprises participated in the Hong Kong Food Expo 2017 (HKTDC Food Expo 2017) held in HKCEC Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong, for a 3-day duration from August 17 to 19, 2017, attracting buyers' attention. The participating companies from provinces of JeollaNamdo, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Jeju-do and so forth are integrated into a single Korean Pavilion under the sponsorship of Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.
Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, the organizer of the participating of Korean companies in the international event, tried to publicize the Korean industry in a variety of ways including attraction of attendants to the publicity booth of Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation where they could have a first-hand sampling of Korean products; introduction to the HANSHI FOOD app, an application targeted at the visiting buyers who had subscribed to the program in advance, which was designed to tie in with potential buyers, and to offer gifts to visitors.
Besides, "Korea Jang (Traditional Korean sauces and pastes such as soybean paste and soy sauce) Cooperative" and "Hanwoo (Korean native cattle) Self-help & Funding Board" successfully aroused participants' interest by demonstrating a variety of Korean foods including stir-fried rice cake seasoned with soy sauce and hot pepper, japchae, steaks of Korean beef and so forth.
Products from major participating industries included healthy food such as dried laver, red ginseng, citrus tea, kimchi (pickled cabbages and radishes), dried fruits, weaning foods, a variety of teas, drinks and processed food of Korean origin. Participant industries appraised the event as a wonderful opportunity of meeting buyers from surrounding countries and regions as well as those first hand from Hong Kong at one stop since the exhibition ranks among the best of food exhibitions worldwide.
A staff member of Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation made it clear that the corporation would do all to support the industries in various ways so that they can explore export markets, adding that the event would mark a good opportunity to publicize Korean agro-fisheries products to Hong Kong, China and other neighboring countries and regions.
