Joint-Press: EA to Support CGDC

BEIJING, April 20 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The 2nd China Game Developers Conference (CGDC) announced the involvement of EA, the world's leading interactive entertainment software company, at its upcoming conference planned for July. EA, in showing support for China GAPP's guidelines in improvement of local game development and enhancement of the innovation of China game industry, will participate in the CGDC program design and recommendation of speakers from the top producers and experts in technology and management from many well-known EA studios. EA will leverage the resources of its rich experience, cutting-edge technology and development concept to help Chinese game developers level up their expertise.

Up till now, CGDC has invited Peter Moore, President of EA SPORTS, Barry Cottle, Senior VP & General Manager of EA Mobile, Mark Jacobs, Studio VP & General Manager from Mythic Entertainment and Robert Vernick, COO of EA Shanghai Studio as key members of its advisory board. EA will participate in the program design of PC/Console session, Online game session, Mobile game session and outsourcing session. They will also help invite top EA developers all over the world to deliver speeches in the CGDC. Jon Niermann, President of EA Asia, says, "China is a very important market to EA. We're happy to share our game development experience and cutting-edge technology with the local game industry. The grand opening of the 2nd CGDC is much anticipated and more details on EA speakers in CGDC will be disclosed in due course.

The Organizing Committee of ChinaJoy, one of the top game exhibitions in the world, recently announced that it would hold a series of business events, including "China Game Business Conference" (CGBC) and a "B2B Area", during this year's exhibition in Shanghai so that participants can better take advantage of the business opportunities brought about by China's booming game industry. The incredible growth of the game industry in China, as well as in related industries, is said to generate a direct demand worth as much as $3.3 billion and presents huge opportunities for game-related enterprises and IT companies from around the world.

ChinaJoy's Organizing Committee also announced that according to their agreement with CGDC, 2009 CGBC (July 22nd to 26th) and CGDC (July 24th to 26th) will be held alongside each other in Shanghai International Convention Center. Therefore, developers will also join this year's event, which makes ChinaJoy 2009 an event never to be missed.
