The forested theme symbolises the association's continuous growth as it evolves and adapts to the changing needs, providing relevant services to the community for two and a half decades. Inaugurated in 1992, Metta commenced operations of her first centre, Metta Day Activity Centre for the Intellectually Disabled in 1995, serving 32 clients. Followed closely in the next few years saw the start-up of services such as the Metta student care centres, special education for children with special needs and geriatric medical care centres that Metta took under her wings. With the evolving needs of society, Metta consolidated its services to focus on special needs and medical care for the ageing population, with the most recent programme being Metta Home Nursing. Commenced in April 2015, the programme meets the growing demands of the ageing population with home management care for adults with chronic illnesses. To date, Metta serves over some 1,100 clients from all races, religions and ages at its nine centres islandwide. Metta firmly believes in unceasingly nurturing its clients and provide unfailing support to ensure that they are best able to be equipped in overcoming their challenges.

Metta's Deputy Executive Director, Felicia Wee, says, "I am heartened that with the collective support of the community and our donors. We have strived to continue providing relevant quality programmes and services to our clients so that they are able to overcome their challenges and lead a meaningful life."

In its commemorative milestone, Metta has also released a compilation of 25 heartwarming and inspirational stories of people behind Metta: our beneficiaries, volunteers, donors and partners - ordinary every day heroes whose actions embodies perseverance and compassion.
