SCAD Hong Kong's Fashion Showcase highlights the university's commitment to professionally preparing young design talent and provides a high-profile platform for the best talent from SCAD internationally. The show was distinguished by seven local Hong Kong fashion students: Sammy Leung, Rosalina Ma, Endra Devi, Shady Wong, Jasmine Chow, Nara Chan and Chocolate Tsang.

Focusing on menswear, Sammy Leung is particularly interested in denim and has explored the fabric extensively in his collection, "City of Darkness." Leung is currently employed at Disney's costume department. Rosalina Ma's collection 'Morocco Tropica' is inspired by the bold colors and prints of Morocco, and is made out of organza and Italian swimwear fabric. Endra Devi's designs pay homage to 80s club culture, with bold psychedelic patterns. Her collection, 'Dark Paradise,' utilizes technically advanced crystal embellishment, laser cutting, quilting and bonding.

"The quality of the latest fashion collections from SCAD Hong Kong is proof of the creativity that surrounds SCAD students from the moment they walk through our doors, and the rigorous professional preparation they receive," said Dr. David Pugh, Vice President for SCAD Hong Kong. "At SCAD, our students are equipped with the tools to be visionary industry leaders of the future, the students whose work was featured on the Fashion Showcase 2018 catwalk are more than a testament to that."

SCAD fashion students gained first-hand experience running the show's backstage operations for this professional production, as special guest Guo Pei shared her invaluable experience as an international couturiere to the participating students.
