HONG KONG, May 11 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- On 2 April 2007, Birkart Globistics air + ocean, the international logistics provider, opened a branch in Gdynia, its second location in Poland. This means that the company, a subsidiary of Thiel Logistik AG, is now represented at 87 locations worldwide.
The new Birkart Globistics air + ocean branch is located in Gdansk Bay, directly in the port of Gdynia, the most important hub for container goods going to and from Poland. In future, Birkart Globistics will use this location to handle all of the goods that are imported or exported through the port - a task previously carried out by partner companies. The new branch will mean that customer service on site will be considerably improved. In addition to handling ocean freight, the service range also includes customs clearance via the company's own customs agency.
The branch is the second of its kind in the country - following the location in Warsaw, which was opened in October 2005. Under the direction of Jacek Okulski, operations at the branch office in Gdynia will begin in May 2007.
