- Korea will soon be hosting the IEEE NANO Conference highlighting the convergence of four key industrial technologies: nano, MEMS, printed electronics and laser machining.

SEOUL, South Korea, July 7 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- NANO KOREA 2010, the 8th International Nanotech Symposium & Exhibition (http://www.nanokorea.or.kr ), a trade show focused on nanotechnology and its convergence with other industries, will be held in Goyang city, Korea from August 18 to 20.

In line with this year's theme "Nanotechnology for a Green World," ideas and directions will be presented for realizing nanotechnology-based environment-friendly energies.

The prestige of this year's conference is particularly enhanced thanks to being hosted by the IEEE, drawing a large number of globally prominent scholars in nanotechnology, including Nobel Prize laureates.

The Nano Korea Exhibition will be held in conjunction with the Micro/MEMS Exhibition & Conference with LaserKorea, co-hosted by Korea, Japan and Germany, and the Printed Electronics Tech & Industry Expo will also be hosted simultaneously. About 450 booths will be provided for 250 exhibitors from the largest ever 20 countries. Over 10,000 visitors from about 40 countries are expected to attend.

The Nanotech Symposium (mentioned in the title of the IEEE Nano Conference) starts on Aug. 17, the day before the main program. The symposium features keynote speeches by Robert Grubs (2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry), Peter Grunberg (2007 Nobel Prize in Physics) and Kinam Kim (President of Samsung Electronics) followed with sessions by about 270 world-renowned speakers and about 1,000 poster presentations, thereby being expected to attract 1,500 participants.

An official involved with this event explained that, "This conference provides the best forum for participants to trade information for turning nascent technologies into business opportunities and promoting cooperation for their technological achievements. Thanks to the co-hosting of the IEEE Nano Conference, it has become a world class event."

He also mentioned that "Online Matchmaking" system introduced last year to allow participants to pre-register for smoother exchanges between overseas buyers and participants has been receiving favorable comments.

In this year's conference, Korea's leading corporations, including Samsung, LG and Hanhwa, will again introduce their nanotechnology developments and products.

If you want to participate in this event, visit its official homepage (http://nanokorea.or.kr/Eng/ ) and pre-register at no cost for participation and booth use.
