The year 2007 marks a historic height for the wedding market in China. The wedding trade now appears in a variety of more than 40 different categories, accounting for 2.5% of China’s GDP. In Shanghai, the average wedding spending exceeds RMB 120,000 per new couple, adding up to an overall expenditure of more than RMB 10 billion per year.
