SHANGHAI, China, June 27 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Touchmedia today announced the addition of Da Zhong and Qiang Sheng, two of Shanghai's premier taxi fleets, to its roster for in-taxi touchscreen and paper advertising. These fleets have exclusive taxi rank privileges at many of Shanghai's premier office buildings, apartments, shopping centres and hotels.

"We're delighted," said Touchmedia CEO Micky Fung, "as this gives us all five fleets we initially wanted. We can now control the taxi environment and have fleets with the best maintained taxis in the market."

This sentiment was echoed by Mr. Wang Weiping, CEO of Qiangsheng Taxi Advertising Group, "Touchmedia is the most technologically advanced and professionally organized in-taxi media company in China. We very much look forward to a long-term relationship."

These two new contracts, together with those already announced with Bashi, Blue Union and Hai Bor, mean that Touchmedia controls 22,000 taxis, in a market of 34,000 cars in major fleets. Last week Touchmedia also announced that it was concluding contracts for 10,000 taxis for touchscreens in Beijing, in addition to the 30,000 taxis already displaying paper advertising.

"We can measure exactly how many people see the advertising in every taxi and what they do with our interactive screens. Advertisers are amazed to get this detail and be able to measure precisely their return on investment. That's what is driving the demand and our expansion," says Mr Fung.

Touchmedia is China's main interactive outdoor media company. They are leading developers of proprietary interactive hardware and software. They have been selling advertising space on their touchscreen systems and paper posters since 2002, as well as providing creative support.
