In its role as the leading global entrepreneur and social enterprise network, the XL Group supports various nominated causes -- either through direct giving or working with its entrepreneur network -- as to how individuals and companies can most effectively give to nominated causes. XL Canada will support 'Free The Children'.

Free The Children is the world's largest network of children helping children through education, with more than one million youth involved in innovative education and development programs in 45 countries. Founded by international child rights activist Craig Kielburger when as a 12 year old he gathered 11 school friends to begin fighting child labour, Free The Children has an established track-record of success, with three nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize and partnerships with the United Nations and Oprah's Angel Network.

Unlike any other children's charity in the world, Free The Children is both funded and driven by children and youth. Its mission is to free young people from the idea that they are powerless to bring about positive social change, and encourage them to act now to improve the lives of young people everywhere.

Canadian Bob Urichuck is the new XL Country Manager in Canada, "Several years ago I had the pleasure to introduce Marc Kielburger, the older brother of Craig Kielburger, at a conference. At the time he was only 21 years old and after hearing Craig's story and why he had created Free the Children at age 12, l was speechless. I knew then that this was a charitable cause that I wanted to support."

XL Canada is an XL Social Enterprise Accredited Company, meaning that it will donate at least 10% of its profits to a nominated cause. For XL Canada this cause is Free The Children.

Roger Hamilton, Chairman of the Global XL Group, will mark XL's opening in Canada by speaking at a full day Entrepreneur Seminar in Toronto on 12th July. The event will also include Chicken Soup Author Raymond Aaron, Canada's #1 Internet Marketing Consultant Andrew Cocks and Canadian Tax Specialist Shy Kurtz.

XL Chairman Roger Hamilton was born in Hong Kong and educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University. Roger became an entrepreneur soon after completing his studies, experiencing many failures before achieving success. He now owns and runs businesses in publishing, property, financing, franchising, event management, resort management, training, coaching, technology, membership, retail and education. For the last seven years he has traveled throughout the World, conducting events and workshops to over 500,000 entrepreneurs in 18 countries.
