HONG KONG, Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited ("TCL Communication" or "the Company", together with its subsidiaries referred to as "the Group"; HKSE stock code: 02618) today announced its unaudited handsets and accessories shipment figures in January 2011.
Handsets and accessories sales totaled 3,133,446 units during the month, up 51% from the same period last year, while sales in overseas markets surged 55% year-on-year to 3,006,345 units. But due to seasonal factors, total shipments declined on a month-to-month basis from December 2010.
Thanks to effective sales strategy, enhanced R&D capabilities, unique product designs, closer strategic partnerships with major telecommunications operators globally and continuous expansion into open market, the Group was able to sustain last year's sales growth momentum into January for its handsets and accessories.
In February 2011, in a press conference at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, the Group unveiled its new ALCATEL ONE TOUCH brand and strategy. ALCATEL ONE TOUCH makes mobile technology and services simple and accessible with a wide range of smart and innovative products that are both easy to use and competitively priced. A total of 20 ALCATEL ONE TOUCH series products were introduced at the Congress, which wowed the delegates with their sleek and streamlined designs as well as easy-to-use technology.
