2011-06-20 11:35 3851

SHANGHAI, June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao has won "China's Best Newly-Opened MICE Hotel of 2011" at the 8th Golden-Pillow Awards of China Hotels.

The new Shanghai landmark, which opened in November 2010, won the prestigious award in fierce competition with dozens of other hotels which opened throughout Greater China over the past one year. Jointly organised by Chinese financial media 21st Century Business Herald and Business Travel, the Golden-Pillow Award is evaluated on the feedback of dozens of professional judges and MICE experts, as well as votes from netizens.

Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao General Manager Brice Pean said the award was a great tribute to the hard work and dedication of all his team.  "It demonstrates how the legendary Hilton brand is able to deliver the best service in so little time. We are all deeply honoured and look forward to winning further awards in other categories of the Golden Pillow awards."

Among the attributes impressing the judges was the 2,800m² flexible meeting and banquet space, including the largest ballroom in the Puxi area. Measuring 1,706m² with a 6.7m-high ceiling, the spectacular ballroom can accommodate more than 1,000 guests – perfect for a grand banquet or wedding.

The conference area features six meeting rooms of various sizes, all offering wired and wireless broadband Internet access, and audio/visual equipment. A dedicated banquet and conference services team ensures that every event is a success.
