“Wind Power Shanghai 2007 & Exhibition” to be held in Shanghai from

October 31 to November 3, 2007 are co-initiated and co-sponsored by CREIA,

GWEC, CWEA and SIEC. It is the global wind energy event to be held for the

first time in China and joined by the three major wind energy organizations

of CREIA, GWEC and CWEA. Thanks to its strong industrial background, it will

attract wide participation from global wind energy fields, including

governments, companies, scientific research institutes and NGOs, building an

excellent domestic and even world level brand for wind energy conference and

exhibition characterized by high-grade and high-standard, thus contributing

to the development of the global wind energy cause. As expected, the

exhibition will occupy an area of 10,000 square meters and the conference

will be attended by 400-500 people. The official website for Wind Power

Shanghai 2007 & Exhibition, http://www.windpowershanghai.com , has been

launched days ago and we will publish all kinds of relevant information in

time.

The Global Wind Energy Council represents over 1,500 wind power equipment

manufacturers, relevant organizations and research academies and institutes

in more than 50 countries in the world, including all the important

manufacturers in the international wind energy industry which have produced

99% of the total installed capacity of wind mill generators. With its member

associations representing the development trend of the whole industry, it is

the most authoritative organization in the world wind energy industry.

With the implementation of the China Law on Renewable Resources and the

“Eleventh Five-Year Plan” on January 1, 2006, China’s wind energy market,

which draws much attention, will generate valuable opportunity for vigorous

growth. The installed capacity of windmill generators will reach 5 million kW

in 2010, 10 million kW in 2015 and 30 million kW in 2020.

In 2005, the installed capacity of newly added windmill generators was

500,000 kW, increase by 254% and boosting a total installed capacity of 1.27

million kW in China. Last year, 62 wind power fields in 15 provinces in

China generated 1.53 kWh (quantity of electricity on the grid). At the end of

2005, imported windmill generators will take up 77% of the Chinese market

with the involvement of world-class enterprises.

The increasingly prosperous wind energy market will provide this

conference and exhibition with a good opportunity unseen before. The

conference is an important part of the “Wind Power Shanghai 2007 and

Exhibition” and will be held in Sheraton Grand Tai Ping Yang Hotel, Shanghai

from October 31 to November 1. The topics of the conference will focus on

China’s wind energy market, national policies and regulations, project

investment and financing and technical development of the systems for

connecting and detaching wind power fields with grids and construction of

wind power fields at sea. The sponsors will invite overseas and domestic

government officials, association leaders, entrepreneurs and technical

experts to make speeches on policies for wind energy development, technical

and market issues and take part in discussion to share their experience,

understanding, information and research results with attendants.

In order to serve the increasingly growing demand for technology,

equipment and service in China’s wind energy market, the sponsors will also

hold a special exhibition in the Shanghai International Exhibition Center

from November 1 to 3, 2007. The exhibits include wind power project

development and engineering construction consultation, project financing and

authentication consultation, wind power forecast, measurement and estimate,

wind power software, operation and maintenance of wind power fields, power

and power grid establishments, professional media, technical research,

education and training, etc. so as to build an information exchange and

trading platform for the industry, provide opportunities for business

cooperation between Chinese and overseas companies and promote healthy

development of China’s wind energy market. At that time, the sponsors will

also invite government officials, policymakers, buyers, wind power field

operators, project developers, investors, association members and wind energy

professionals to visit the exhibition.

Wind Power Shanghai 2007 & Exhibition will provide a good opportunity for

Chinese and foreign manufacturers to gain information about Chinese market,

share international cutting-edge technology of and development experience in

wind energy and expand cooperation between enterprises and institutions.

The holding of the press conference lifts officially the curtain for the

preparation for the Wind Power Shanghai 2007 & Exhibition. The warm response

of attendants confirms the present and future significance of the event. We

expect that it will become a window for mutual understanding between China’s

and the rest of the world’s wind power industry and market and set off a new

upsurge of sustainable development of the wind power cause in China.

The second press conference will be held in Shanghai on January 16, 2007.
